Brief bio:

R. Dodge Woodson is the author of more than 90 non-fiction books and dozens of magazines articles. Woodson is responsible for the creation and completion of several successful book series that Lone Wolf Enterprises, Ltd., (one of his companies) produced for McGraw-Hill and John Wiley & Sons. Many of Woodson’s books have been noted as best-sellers. The subject matter of Dodge’s books range from photography to plumbing. In addition to his writing skills, major publishers come to Dodge as a publishing and marketing consultant. He also serves as an expert witness in plumbing and construction-related cases.

Dodge’s path:

R. Dodge Woodson began a career in law enforcement in 1974. After three years of protecting and serving, Woodson entered the plumbing trade. He earned his master’s license and opened Pioneer Plumbing in 1979.

As Pioneer Plumbing grew, Woodson expanded the company to include remodeling. As an evolution of the growth, The Hearthstone Corporation, Inc. was created to build as many as 60 single-family homes a year, in Virginia.

During the plumbing, building, and remodeling work, Dodge created a property management company and earned his real estate license. All of the elements were growth elements of what started as a one-man plumbing company and grew into a crew of more than 125 people. As a personal enjoyment, Woodson served as a professional photographer for Globe Photos, Inc., in NYC, while running his other companies.

Woodson has a successful track record in land development, building, plumbing, remodeling, training, consulting, writing, photography, property management, real estate, and related activities.

In 1987, Woodson relocated to Maine. While running a real estate and plumbing and remodeling business, Dodge began writing magazine articles. His articles were followed by books in early 1990. With 92 books to his credit, and more under contract, Woodson is one of the most prolific how-to writers in the United States. He has many best-selling titles with McGraw-Hill.

During his writing time, Dodge has created and presented continuing education programs, which have been approved by the State of Maine, for licensed real estate professionals. Additionally, Woodson has taught adult vocational classes at Central Maine Technical College.

Dodge is no stranger to business seminars. He has written, presented, and published various business seminars with such titles as: Positive Problem Solving, 50 Fast Ways to Waste Less Time.

Seeing problems in the publishing world, Woodson created Lone Wolf Enterprises, Ltd. and Creative Consulting, Inc. to solve many of the problems that major publishers and freelance authors face on a daily basis. The father of two wonderful children, Woodson lives in a remote location in Maine on over 150 acres of wilderness land. His interests include photography, treasure hunting, shooting sports, nature observation, and fishing.
