Roger Woodson
President and Executive Publisher
As an author, Woodson has written over ninety books and dozens of magazine
articles. His publishers include some of the biggest names in publishing —
Simon & Schuster, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, Contemporary Books, among
others.
In addition to writing, Woodson has packaged many of his own books for Marshall
& Swift. The books were provided "printer ready," to the publisher, with the
exception of cover design. Experience gained through this process allowed
Woodson to establish a publishing/packaging team and business, that can provide
completed works to be sold to major publishers.
Woodson is well connected in the industry due to his personally published work
through several main houses. He has also built a valuable network of "expert"
sources — architects, engineers, interior designers, lawyers, CPAs, medical professionals, educators and others — enhancing his ability to coordinate cooperative titles and publish packages on numerous subjects.
Woodson's own books cover many topics including, but not limited to, real
estate, construction, remodeling, business, travel, camping and photography. He
is an accomplished photographer and illustrates many of his own stories and
books. Woodson's photography has been represented by Globe Photos, Inc., and has
been published in books, magazines, newspapers, and corporate documents. He has
the distinction of receiving the highest classification available in a
professional license — that of Designated Real Estate Broker — as well as
Master Plumber and General Contractor.
Prior to becoming an author, Woodson's career revolved around real estate and
construction. In Virginia, he built as many as sixty homes a year, was involved
in extensive remodeling, operated a full-service plumbing company, and ran his
own real estate brokerage firm. Woodson also worked as a business consultant,
where he assisted small business start-ups and advised on productivity and
profits.
Woodson designed, developed, wrote and presented state-approved real estate
courses for continuing education credits, business seminars, and videos such as
Positive Problem Solving and Recycling Real Estate, for Mid-Coast Training &
Development. He was also a member of the adjunct faculty of Central Maine
Technical College, where he taught adult education courses in plumbing codes, as
well as plumbing apprenticeship.
